Duck Veterans

On this Veteran’s Day, we introduce you to some of our students who are veterans of the armed services. Veterans have always been a part of campus life at the University of Oregon.

In recognition of Veteran Awareness Week, the Veterans and Family Student Association has events planned all week on campus.

The UO which has been named a top “military-friendly” school by G.I. Jobs Magazine, celebrated the opening of its new Student Veterans Center last April in the Erb Memorial Union. The center is a dedicated space for student veterans and their families to gather at the UO.

The Office of Admissions lists other services for student veterans at the UO on this page, including Dog Tags to Ducks, a veteran peer mentorship program.

The University of Oregon is also documenting the experiences of UO veterans with the UO Veterans Oral History Project. For more on the project, check out Cascade Magazine’s story.
