Editor's note: Latest in a series of profiles of Oregon students earning degrees this spring

NAME: Carl Windrup

HOMETOWN: Stockholm, Sweden

MAJOR: Political Science and Philosophy

CAREER INTERESTS: Law, Public Policy.

THE FACULTY MEMBER WHO MADE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN MY TIME AT THE UO IS: I have to name two. The first person is Professor Alison Gash (political science). She has been such a tremendous influence in my life, and done so much for me academically and intellectually. She always makes time for her students, and I have never had a teacher who cares as much as she does.

The second person is Dr. Paul Shang, Dean of Students . Paul has helped me so much since Freshman year, and I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for all his advice. I would not be where I am without Professor Gash and Paul. They have been the best mentors anyone could have asked for!

WHAT I DO FOR FUN: I love sports. I have been a soccer player my whole life, and still play today. I also play the guitar. However, spending time with my friends is number one for me. I've got some truly amazing people around me!

WHAT I’VE LEARNED: How to identify goals and work toward them.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT OREGON: I love the diversity at the UO. It is amazing to be around people from all over the world.
