On the Rocks eliminated in Round 4

On the Rocks got in touch with their Inner Elton's in Wednesday's broadcast of "The Sing-Off," but it wasn't enough to keep them from getting voted off the NBC reality show.

The 15-member group, made of up current and former University of Oregon students, were eliminated after surviving the first three rounds of the competition, along with four other groups.

On the Rocks sang a medley of Elton John songs — "The Bitch is Back," "Benny and the Jets" and "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," earning praise from judge Nicole Scherzinger.

"Y'all came to play tonight," she said. "I'm very, very impressed," at how they found their "inner Eltons."

Judge Ben Folds was more critical, saying their groove was "a bit too complicated" on "Bitch" and too fast on "Benny."

Winner of the contest gets $100,000 and a Sony Music recording contract. The show's live finale airs Dec. 20.
