About 4,000 incoming freshmen and 1,300 transfer students are getting their feet wet this summer at IntroDUCKtion, the University of Oregon's orientation program for new students and their families.
About 450 freshmen will attend one of the eight two-day sessions on campus, while about 350 transfer students attend one of two one-day sessions. In addition, 65 students attended an IntroDUCKtion session in Hawaii
IntroDUCKtion offers students a chance to make friends, get to know campus, and perhaps most important, register for fall classes.
While students are meeting with academic advisers and faculty members, parents attend sessions such as "Holding On and Letting Go," "Money Matters," and "For the Health of It."
