CAREER INTERESTS: I will be starting my career this summer at KPMG, an accounting firm in Portland, in their external audit practice. I’m planning on obtaining my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification and seeing where that takes me. I’m excited to work with a variety of clients in different industries and learn as much as I can about the business world. I would love to live and work abroad at some point.

WHAT I DO FOR FUN: I’ve played on at least one intramural sports team nearly every term I’ve been a student here; I love playing, watching, and reading about sports. I also like to run to stay in shape; I ran the Eugene Half Marathon twice and also did Hood to Coast one year.

WHAT I LEARNED: For me, college has been about finding who and what inspires me. I’ve learned that it’s OK to stop spending time and efforts on things I’m not passionate about, and to pursue the things that do inspire me.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT OREGON, THE PLACE: We have it all – the academics, the athletics, the resources, the beautiful campus, the school pride. We have the ample resources of a big school but also the intimate, collaborative environment of a small school. The people here are some of the most down-to-earth, genuine, open-minded people you will ever meet. I think this culture creates an ideal environment for all of the self-exploration and discovery that happens in college.

WHY I’M PROUD TO BE A DUCK: I’m proud to be part of a community that empowers so many different people to succeed in their own distinct niches. I love learning about other people’s passions and what they’re doing with their college education – I’m inspired every day.
