NAME: Lenana J.M Faraj

HOMETOWN: Nairobi, Kenya

MAJOR: Political Science and Minor: Environmental Studies

CAREER INTERESTS: Government, UN, NGO's and renewable energy

THE FACULTY MEMBER WHO MADE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN MY TIME AT THE UO IS: Joseph Lowndes: A great political science professor who made political science class interesting which in turn inspired me to continue to seek out my degree in the field.

WHAT I DO FOR FUN: Soccer, basketball, DJ and event planning

WHAT I¹VE LEARNED: In college I've learnt the importance of persevering and staying focused on the end goal regardless of any obstacles that come in your way. I believe you're a winner if you make it across the finish line. I've also learnt about time management and how to survive an "all-nighter!"

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT OREGON: I love how beautiful and spacious our campus is. I also love how green it is in summer (despite the rain). Oregon also has wonderful people who are open-minded to different cultures and usually people here are quite welcoming and fun to be around.
