Flock descends on UO campus for Move-in Day
More than 3,000 students were moving into residence halls Thursday under cool, sunny skies for Move-In Day 2013, and about 4,000 total are expected to be living on campus this fall.
Helping move their stuff were about 400 "Unpack the Quack" volunteers, clad in yellow shirts and seen carrying boxes and bags up to rooms in the residence halls.
"It's really an exciting day," said Lauren Miller, marketing director for University Housing. "We've had had so many parents and students comment about the process being smooth. I'm proud of the work our volunteers, our staff and our campus has done to welcome students."
